# Predict social media post performance before posting

Last updated 2026-11-01 · by Venu Gopal Reddy Muvva, founder

You cannot know exactly how a post will do, but you can catch the common mistakes before it goes out. SocialPostScheduler shows a 0–100 Predicted performance score in Compose as you type, with the top fixes, and learns a best time to post for each channel. The score is a guide, not a promise.

## How to do it in SocialPostScheduler

- 1Write the postOpen Compose, pick the channels and start typing. The Predicted performance box shows a score once you type.
- 2Read the top fixesCheck the fixes listed under the score, such as adding an image, a question or fewer hashtags.
- 3Tailor per networkChoose 🔀 Tailor per network. Length and style that score well on LinkedIn may not on X.
- 4Use # Hashtags with careChoose # Hashtags for suggestions, then keep only the ones that fit. Too many can lower the score.
- 5Pick the timeChoose Best time ⚡ to use the learned hours for that channel, or set weekly slots in Queue & best time.
- 6Compare laterOpen Analytics to see how scores matched results. Network stats are demo data until live posting arrives.

## What the score looks at

The score checks length against what works on that network, whether media is attached, the hashtag count, whether there is a question or call to action, how good the chosen time slot is, and whether a link may be downranked.

It also looks at how similar past posts in your workspace did. That part gets better as you build history.

## Fix the cheap things first

Most low scores come from a few easy fixes: no image, a weak first line, no clear ask, or a post far too long for the network. Fix those before you rewrite the whole post.

Do not chase 100. A post that scores 70 but says something true and useful beats a perfect-looking post that says nothing.

Use the score most on the posts that matter, such as a launch or an offer. For everyday posts, a quick look at the top fix is enough.

## Best time, honestly

Each channel learns its own best hours from engagement history, blended with a network default until there is enough data. Today channels are demo channels, so their history is sample data and the network default does most of the work.

SocialPostScheduler is free for your first 3 months (90 days from sign-up), with every feature on and no card needed. After that you pay only for what you use, at our cost with no markup. The score and best time are not metered.

## When SocialPostScheduler is not the right tool

If you need predictions trained on your real Instagram or LinkedIn results today, SocialPostScheduler cannot give you that yet; network stats are demo data until live posting arrives. If you mainly need deep analytics and ads reporting, a tool such as Metricool fits better.

## Questions

How accurate is the score?

It is a guide built from network guidance and your own history, not a promise. It improves as your workspace builds real history.

Does the score cost anything?

No. The score runs as you type and is not metered.

Where do I see the best time?

Open Queue & best time to see best times per channel, or choose Best time ⚡ in Compose.

Can I see if past predictions were right?

Analytics shows a prediction fit. Until networks go live it uses demo data.
